Our client is expanding their activities and have created a new role to support the chief accountant. As the right hand of the chief accountant, you will be in charge of: daily accounting operations (AP, AR, GL), closing and reporting activities, as well as VAT and tax related subjects.


Our client is an international company with various fields of expertise in the medical and pharmaceutical sector. You will work within a specific division of the company, dedicated to a field of expertise.

Right hand of the Chief Accountant in the Medical / Pharmaceutical sector

As a GL Accountant, you will work both autonomously and in support of the Chief Accountant in carrying out various tasks within statutory accounting and ensuring compliance with tax obligations:

  • Daily accounting entries in AP, AR and GL
  • Ensuring accuracy of all data
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Monthly and yearly closings
  • Preparation and analysis of cash flow
  • Preparation of the financial statements (BE GAAP)
  • Financial reporting to group
  • VAT-declaration and statutory reporting NBB / Intrastat
  • Assisting with external audits and internal controls
  • Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Acting as a point of contact within the finance team

Jouw profiel

The succesful candidate ideally matches the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP
  • Experience in a small or medium-sized international structure is a strong asset
  • Solid hands-on accounting expertise with an end-to-end view
  • Fluent in English
  • Good command of French (invoices and local documentation)
  • Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
  • Autonomous, reliable and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable in a small team with broad responsibilities
  • Hands-on mindset with a pragmatic and flexible attitude
