In a new study with almost 6000 Belgian employees, jobsite StepStone has uncovered some interesting facts about teamwork in Belgium and how Belgian employees feel about their co-workers.
Three out of four of Belgian employees feel safe and helped
An astonishing 95% of the respondents say that they like to work in a team. Apparently, the Belgian employee also has clear reasons for that:
- 85% of the respondents said that their team members help them out during difficulties or bottlenecks at work.
- More than three out of four of the Belgian employees feel like there is a sense of security and trust in their team.
- 74% agree that constructive criticism is a key part of their team at work.
Dutch speaking employees dislike mixing work and pleasure more than their French speaking colleagues
We also dug a bit deeper in how friendly the relationships with colleagues are and how co-workers perceive getting along at work:
While more than half of the respondents have no problem with meetups after work occasionally, there is a difference of 10 percent points between Dutch speaking employees (15%) & French speaking employees (only 5,7%) who do not want to mix work & pleasure.
Methodology
StepStone conducted this survey in April and May of 2019. Our analysists have screened the data to ensure both the representation and the validity of respondents’ answers are accurate.
In total, there were 5,983 filled in surveys submitted in Dutch, French and English.
