Your role as a Project engineer metal structures:
You provide independent assessment of construction projects in the field of metal structures.
Your projects include steel rail bridges, movable bridges, lock gates, industrial sheds, offshore windmill foundations, football stadiums, station roofs and special buildings.
You work in a team with your project manager, your colleague specialists for foundations, concrete structures, wooden structures, exterior joinery and techniques.
You delve into the design of the constructions based on your own calculations which depend on the risk analysis.
You go on the field through external meetings, inspections in the steel construction workshops and inspections during assembly.
You report in writing, by telephone and in consultation moments to the parties involved: client, engineering office, contractor and steel workshop.
You are also responsible for the administration and financial follow-up of your projects. Your projects are mainly in Flanders. You can carry out short assignments abroad for which the study work is largely done in Belgium. Meetings and inspections take place sporadically abroad for a few days.

Master of Science degree in engineering or industrial sciences: engineering.
You are interested in the more complex calculations for steel structures.
You can communicate openly and diplomatically, both by telephone and in a meeting with the other building parties.
You speak Dutch and you also know how to communicate in French and in English.
