Aarding Thermal Acoustics, including the brands Burgess-Aarding and Aarding, is an international project organization that specialises in delivering acoustic solutions (silencers) and gas turbine exhaust systems.
Burgess-Aarding focusses on acoustic solutions to control noise emissions. From the office in Nunspeet, projects, including engineering, project management, contract management, procurement and quality control are executed. The customers are in all continents.
CECO feels strongly about flexibility, own initiative and short communication lines. At the moment, the Nunspeet office has approximately 40 employers.
For our client, we are looking for a SALESMANAGER EMEA (HBO+) technical & communicative skills – international setting – 25-50% external.
As a sales manager EMEA at Aarding, you are responsible for building a network and obtaining orders for primarily silencers, mainly in western Europe (Germany, France, UK). In time, your area will expand to southern European countries and North Africa. Your main customers are EPC’s (Engineering Procurement Construction). EPC’s serve demanding, internationally operating multinationals with high quality and professional standards, such as refineries, power plants and the petrochemical industry. Other customers are end users and OEM’s. Projects vary from 10K€ to millions of euros. Usually you are involved in a few dozen projects at the same time.
You will be travelling to visit clients 25-50% of your time. You maintain contact with existing clients and actively search for new clients and expand the customer base by visiting trade fairs and directly approaching potential clients. You arrange meetings and analyse the wishes and requirements of the client. In most cases, the client will deliver the requested information themselves. In some cases, you might have to ask more in depth questions to get the information you are looking for. You also discuss budgets, maintenance costs, delivery times, production locations and legal conditions.
You work intensively with the engineers at the Nunspeet location. Extensive knowledge is available within the company. In case in depth technical knowhow is required, there is a possibility to bring an engineer along to a client meeting. In your job you will deal with various technical matters such as metallurgy, strength calculations, measurements, construction techniques and acoustics. With a commercial approach and creativity, you will come up with out of the box solutions. Evidently, you will make sure that you acquire all relevant information and secure technical feasibility, quality and efficiency but key focus is customer satisfaction.
Based on your acquired information the engineers will draw up a first design and calculation, that you will present to the client. After necessary adjustments, you close the deal and hand over the project to the project manager.

You have a rounded HBO/WO (Bsc./Msc.) education and extensive work experience in a commercial role within a technical oriented international setting. Good knowledge of English and French and/or German is required. Knowledge of other foreign languages is considered an advantage.
You have a strong commercial drive and you are technical savvy, you know how to meet the needs of the client and have the skills to easily establish the right contacts and maintain these. You know how and where to get the right information and you are able to translate this to the client. Naturally, you have a strong commercial and service-oriented drive, are eager to score and have a representative appearance. You prefer personal contact and have a co-operative attitude. Because of your excellent communicative skills, you are capable of translating complex, logistical and technical matters into understandable language. You are capable to convince the client of the added value of the product and create goodwill with the client. You are flexible and have a pro-active and result oriented way of working.
