The position is part of the product engineering team developing AC compressors for the Automotive market. Current product teams are developing and producing a product portfolio consisting of variable displacement compressors and electrically driven compressors
Designing and developing AC compressor components working with design personnel
Developing and authoring engineering specifications for components and assemblies to be used in manufacturing facilities to mass-produce compressor components and assemblies
Ensure technical communication and coordination between US core technical center, Luxembourg. tech. center, European plant, and suppliers
Creative, diagnostic and innovative problem solving as applied to engineering product related solutions
Blueprint reading and interpretation & specification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Assist with preparation and execution of test units
Analyze test data and organize results relative to internal or customer specifications with observations and conclusions
Apply engineering practices to reach design solutions
Participate in innovation, product cost and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in cross-functional teams related to customer program launch activity
Support application team on specific and complex technical issues (ex: NVH, System, control, ….)
Work with suppliers and manufacturing plants to insure product design for high value and manufacturability
Mechanical Engineering degree. Electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
Understanding of Principles of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, strengths of materials, thermodynamics, physics (mechanical and electrical) and engineering design
Good results orientation and strong work ethicPREFERRED
Automotive/Residential /Commercial HVAC development
Language: English Mandatory, German would be a plus.
First Experience in car industry, and possibly in mechatronics would be appreciated.
Special interest for jobs with high technical content with Computed Aided Engineering tools. Experience on FEA engineering tools (Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent) would be a plus.
Able to work effectively within several groups and to lead project on his own
Will be exposed to international mission abroad in the Mahle production plants.
