Technical Consultant (Linux & DevOps)

Here’s what you’ll get up to…

• You’ll get to be involved in all technical stages of a project’s lifecycle:
  • During the design stage, you’ll draw up Linux and Devops architectures.
  • During the building stage, you’ll be called upon for your advice and assistance. If you like to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on, you’ll thrive in this role.
  • During the operations stage, you’ll be providing 3rd-line support for clients and the Realdolmen Operations Team.
• In the design stage, you’ll get to share your vision with the clients. You’ll be their trusted advisor who, based on their current situation, shows them the way forward. You’ll get to put your expertise to work to demonstrate the benefits and drawbacks of certain choices, in order to help clients make decisions.
• You’ll also be the person effectively carrying out the projects. Depending on the size and complexity of the assignment, you’ll either be working on your own or with colleagues specialized in other technology, with infrastructure architects, under the direction of a project leader. As part of the delivery of our projects, you’ll always get to produce documentation and provide coaching.
• With your expertise, you’ll be the go-to person for escalations during the operational stage. Realdolmen offers clients a wide range of Managed Services, and your knowledge will be key to tackling complex problems.
• You’ll get to do plenty of thinking on your feet and contribute to the development of best practices and standardization, both in pre-sales and the actual project stages.

• You already have extensive experience with Linux technology, and know these environments inside-out. You feel at home in medium to large IT environments and know all about IT concepts, technology and products.
• All your Linux knowledge means you’re also up to date with the latest developments to do with DevOps.
• You know how to use one or more of the following tools and/or technology:
  • Redhat, Suse, Ubuntu Linux or alternatives
  • Containers, Docker, and DevOps platforms, products and tools
  • OpenStack, OpenShift or alternatives
  • Kubernetes, Ceph, GitHub
  • Ansible, Ceph, Puppet, Jenkins
  • Etc.
• If you have general Linux certifications or extra knowledge in another domain, even better:

• RHCA or RHCE
• Certifications from hardware vendors
