Senior Network & Security Engineer

The Senior Network & Security Engineer is responsible for the security and availability of the IT infrastructure.

Several of your responsibilities:

• Responsible for Security of the IT infrastructure in General
• Firewalling & reverse proxy: Troubleshoot and make routine changes to the different firewall & reverse proxy systems as also be able to implement new installations & features
• Security testing of networks, firewalls, Windows environment, Fileshare accesses
• You will provide Level-2/3 technical assistance to the internal Service desk;
• You are not afraid of routine tasks and you have excellent document skills;
• Documentation: Interpret and maintain technical documentation and make the necessary design documents for new projects & installations
• Support: Offer operational support on wired and wireless networks for the 2 main datacenters and all 150 sites connected to the network either directly or by assisting the Helpdesk or local IT support staff
• You are a sparring partner for the ISSO and assist him for technical implementations.

• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
• You have a Bachelor education in Computer Science and/or Information Systems or other technical fields (or equivalent by experiences)
• You have an excellent technical knowledge of :
  -Security features (802.1X, VPN, IPS/IDS, Wifi, PKI, SSL, …)
  -Checkpoint firewalls (GAIA R80.10 & R80.20)
  -Fortinet Fortigate/Fortimanager/FortiAnalyser (5.6)
  -Security of Windows server 2008-2019 environment
  -security testing
  
  
• You have excellent knowledge of Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, ISCSI, etc.),
  -OSI layer 1-7
  -Cisco switches and routers
  -Cisco ISE
  -Troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, commandlinetools, …)
  -Endpoint security (antivirus, encryption, certificates)
  Considered as a plus:
  -Citrix (XenApp, Netscaler, …)
  -Netflow, Nagios, SNMP, Sysslog
  -Nessus vulnerability scanner
  -MS SQL
  -Vmware basics
  
  
• You are strongly experienced in design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network and security equipment
• You have analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of networks
• You have excellent communication skills to communicate system proposals to IT-management and customers. But also to provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems;
• You have the ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems;
• You have developed coaching skills to assist less experienced colleagues;
• You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You are flexible and willing to work outside business hours if necessary
• You are fluent in English. A good level of French, Dutch or German would be a plus.
• Work location: preferable 3-4 days Turnhout (Belgium) , 1-2 day flexible (BE-NL)
