Hays Life Sciences Ghent is looking for a Senior Scientist Molecular Biology and Microbiology at Phd level for Syngenta. Through research and development Syngenta tries to increase crop productivity, protect the environment and improve health and quality of life.
As Senior Scientist Molecular Biology and Microbiology you will work on the development of next generation RNA-based biocontrol solutions for crop protection and pest control. You will be working within a dynamic team focussed on bringing RNAi technology to the market. Syngenta encourages you to actively contribute to achieve that goal by bringing new ideas and implementing new technologies. Next to this main objective you will provide molecular biology and / or microbiology expertise in other Syngenta projects as required. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams across different Syngenta sites located in different countries around the globe.
As Senior Scientist Molecular Biology and Microbiology, you should have a PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology and / or microbiology. Knowledge about RNAi, genome editing and / or bio-informatics is an advantage. Experience and know-how about recently developed technologies and techniques and their applications in molecular biology are a prerequisite. Experience in the agro-industry or insects is not required but an interest in those topics is recommended. We are looking for a self-motivated, independent, critical and communicative person. English speaking and writing skills are mandatory.
