Risk & Control Manager - Brussels - International company

The scope of responsibilities for this position as a Risk & Control Manager (m/f) includes:

• You are responsible for setting up, developing and managing a Risk & Control organization;
• You manage and execute activities of the Risk & Control teams and ensure that the Internal Control framework is effectively and efficiently designed, and meets the requirements of the Corproate Governance Regulations;
• You facilitate the risk management processes and implement the controls to mitigate the risks in order to ensure that sound Risk Management and Internal Control Systems are in place and are operating effectively;
• Support line management in identifying the risks in their area and facilitate risk workshops to assess the risks and define risk mitigation actions;
• Conduct an annual Fraud Risk Assessment;
• Ensure that an appropriate (evaluation of) design of procedures and controls to mitigate identified risks;
• Ensure assurance testing on the effectiveness of the Internal Control framework for the related operating company is provided timely and with high quality;
• Develop and maintain effective relationship with business, discuss control issues and related remediation with business;
• Support External and Internal Audit throughout the execution of audit plans;
• Coaching/guiding/developing R&C associates while focusing on the company's values.

The required qualifications for this position as a Risk & Control Manager (m/f) are:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics. CPA, ACCA and/or Registered Operational Auditor preferred but not required;
• Work experience of 7+ years in one or more subjects: external auditing/internal auditing, internal control, business controlling, and/or financial controlling;
• Knowledge of SAP environment and/or IT General Computer Controls is a plus;
• Basic understanding of ISAE 3402 is required;
• Fluent in English (both written and verbally) and one of both domestic language(s);
• Team management and good communication skills;
• Impacting and influencing multiple stakeholders;
• Analytical skills in order to understand processes and challenge them, keeping the helicopter overview and able to make improvement proposal / advice on control implementation;
• Control and risk mindset;
• Support local finance teams in mitigating risks while maintaining independence;
• Flexible and good time management skills;
• Able to work autonomously.
