Product Manager & Business Developer - FR/EN

We are looking for : product manager - business developer - higher education technical domain (hvac, mechanical engineer ...) - technical-commercial BtoB experience - regular business trips within Europe - FR-EN - Gembloux.

The Swegon group is a European leader in indoor comfort solutions and is at the cutting edge of ventilation and air conditioning. To extend its range of solutions it bought the Belgian enterprise known as Lemmens Company (Gembloux) in 2014. Today, the group has 2,400 employees across Europe, North America and Asia with an annual turnover of 500 million euros.

As part of its constant development, Swegon is looking to fill the following role in its Business Development department:

Product Manager & Business Developer - FR/EN

Your tasks

You will manage and develop commercial activities relating to products from the Gembloux site in order to materialise the group’s many growth opportunities and to create an efficient distribution network. Your focus will lie on managing Swegon subsidiaries and partners in Europe. You will divide your time between foreign commercial visits (approx. 30% of the time) and following up these efforts at our headquarters in Gembloux. You will report to Business Development Director for Air Handling Units that is situated in Sweden. As Business Developer you are a member of the local management team in Gembloux.

Your main tasks will be the following:

  • to ensure the commercial follow up of existing customer ranges with support from the technical and administration departments
  • to visit future customers (Swegon subsidiaries, partners.) in order to understand their needs and expectations;
  • to evaluate the opportunities for collaboration based on a market study (types of products, positioning, competition, services, etc.);
  • to define the collaboration project both on a product level (customer adaptation) and price level, taking into account the competition, as well as technical advice from the R&D and Production departments;
  • to compile and negotiate the sales terms and conditions;
  • to lead and motivate the Technical support team and the Technical writer based at Gembloux;
  • to represent Swegon at sector-related trade fairs and exhibitions in order to generate new contacts;
  • to ensure regular reports are provided to the PM & Business Development Manager.
  • to be responsible and lead technical and sales trainings, host events and customer visits

Your profile

  • You have completed your higher education specialising in a technical domain (e.g., HVAC, mechanical engineering, etc.).
  • You have gained technical-commercial BtoB (OEM, etc.) experience on an international scale, ideally in the field of HVAC.
  • You demonstrate a clear interest in technology.
  • You speak fluent French and English (knowledge of German and/or Dutch is a bonus).
  • You are familiar with Office software.
  • You are open to short but regular business trips within Europe.
  • You boast a true sense of business development, and are known for your meticulous sales management, flexibility and communication skills.
  • You reside within a reasonable distance from Gembloux.
