Our client is looking for a packing engineer who will be involved in the scope development, engineering, installation, and start up of packing equipment.
You will technically lead the gassing and seaming area for a new line as a member of a larger project team.
For this equipment you will lead the work with the identified equipment manufacturer through design, lead qualification at the vendors, and will technically support installation and start up. Technically follow up the design phase of the equipment at the vendor. is also one of your responsibilities. You will organize the needed design reviews with operations to make sure all relevant input is worked in the design. You will support the project management / construction team technically where needed, prepare and steer the shop acceptance testing of the equipment, follow up on the startup for the area following the Commissioning/qualification process and technical responsibility over the punch list, making sure technical problems get solved.
You will lead a market study for alternative (lower cost) equipment - case packer, de-palletizing and palletizing technology for new lines.
More specifically, creation of high level specifications & requirements and market inquiry of potential vendors and technology's that can meet requirements. You will perform Best Value Option Analysis on received proposals and recommend on best options, further more detailed deep dive on shortlist of options. Also the final recommendation belongs to your responsibilities.
You will support equipment testing and developments for alternative packing materials, make test plans in cooperation with lead engineer, execute and report. Also developing options / solutions for potentially encountered issues.
