Jouw verantwoordelijkheden
As a Modelling Engineer, you work in a team to solve complex problems to improve business- production planning- or logistics processes. Your tasks are the following:
- Investigate and understand the problem or search for the improvement by having discussions with supply chain experts
- Translate the general model concepts in a powerful software design, develop the algorithms and implement them
- Adapt and further develop the model design to meet additional requirements and to further improve performance in terms of solution quality and solving time
- Deploy and test the model and monitor the model performance
- Built relations with the production to understand the possibilities and restrictions on the production flows, built relations with business to test hypotheses and relevance of conclusion
- Work closely with IT-experts (responsible for design of the model context) and exchange info with solver vendor experts to optimize performance and to fix problems
Jouw profiel
- Master or Phd in Engineering (Physics, Electromechanics, Mechanics, Computer science)
- Capable of high intellectual thinking, but in relation to real industrial or logistical problems
- Knowledge of software design
- Experienced in programming, especially in C++ , strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts. C# is a plus!
- Knowledge of operations research techniques (linear programming, mixed integer programming)
- Know-how of mathematical optimization techniques (local search and gradient methods) and/or constraint programming techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Good organization skills and able to work within given deadlines
- Fluent in Dutch and English
