A Belgian company, active in the industrial bakery sector, is currently recruiting a Key Account Manager. This firm is highly specialized and produces a specific, premium type of baked goods that they sell to both food service and retail groups in Europe. Having grown substantially in the last few years, they have now close to 200 workers, but have nonetheless kept their family-business mentality. They have decided to open this position because the current level of customer demands is too high to handle for the team in place.
When you'll join this company and after an onboarding period, you'll receive a series of projects to manage with existing customers. As a Key Account Manager, you will work on both Private Label and Brands for the Food Service and Retail industries. Because this company only makes high quality, tailor-made baked goods, you will always start from scratch to develop a new solution with your clients. This also means you will need to collaborate closely with other departments of the company, such as R&D, Production, Logistics or Marketing.
Next to managing existing customers, you will devote a fraction of your time (more or less 25%) to business development in order to bring in new business and extend your client portfolio. You will handle international accounts (mainly in Europe) but will only need to travel from time to time.
For this position of Key Account Manager, our client and us are looking for a salesperson with at least 2 years of experience in Key Account Management and a first experience in the industrial bakery sector. Given the location of our client's offices and of its clients, a fluent knowledge of French and English is mandatory. Fluency in any other European language is a plus. In terms of soft skills, the ideal candidate for this position is autonomous to manage accounts from A to Z, but also collaborative to work together with many internal departments.
