Based on the Common Services Delivery Framework, Common Service Delivery Points (CSDPs) provide operational services in finance, human resources, and contracting & procurement to a network of Canadian missions based in Europe and Africa.
Under the general supervision of the Contract and Procurement Officer, the Common Service Delivery Point Contract and Procurement Assistant is responsible for compiling, maintaining data and advising on basic materiel management, procurement and contracting activities for an assigned range of goods and services for identified regional client missions.
The type of services includes inputting and maintaining data, such as Purchase Orders in the Department`s SAP-based financial management system; providing routine contracting and procurement advice and services including the processing and maintenance of contracting files, processing and reviewing received documentation. He/she also maintains client relations with Canadian missions included in Global Affairs Canada’s network abroad.
Education:
A university or post-secondary degree.
OR
A secondary diploma combined with a significant professional experience of at least three (3) years in a similar position in a contract and procurement capacity.
Language:
Ability to communicate effectively* in both official languages of Canada: English and French (speaking, reading and writing).
* “Communicate effectively” is considered to be the equivalent to B2 level per the Common European framework of reference for languages.
Experience:
Candidates must have:
1. At least twenty-four (24) consecutive months of significant experience within the last eight (8) years working in an office environment performing the following activities:
2. Minimum one (1) year of experience as a contracting and procurement assistant in either public or private sector in the last five (5) years.
3. Minimum two (2) years experience in providing corporate services to clients within or outside of an organization in the last eight (8) years.
