Antwerp, Belgium.
As an associate scientist with in vivo experience you will be part of the Global Public Health Team. You will perform animal testing to support the research in highly infectious diseases. All this is done in a team-oriented, result-driven, international research environment that provides an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Scientist.
Job Responsibilities: - Perform in vivo (mice) experiments in a BL3 facility (injections: oral, IV, IM,...)
- Therapeutic dose analysis
- Dissection: organ analysis
- Develop, optimize, validate and perform biological cell based assays
- Establish an understanding of the relevance of the data being generated on the project
- Present own work confidently, internally, with clear rationale and produce slides on own work
- Write up lab book to department and patent-acceptable standard
- Highlight interesting biology papers for the project team
- Use appropriate scientific literature to plan assays
- Maintain a strong awareness of the relevant scientific literature and contemporary laboratory practices.
The following are minimum requirements related to the
Associate Scientist (in vivo) position.
- MSc in a relevant discipline; capabilities to develop as scientist
- FELASA certified
- Proven lab work with laboratory animals
- 2 years + of working experience
- Proficient in English
- Expertise in utilizing complex cell-based assays is preferred
