IT System Engineer – International Industrial EnvironmentProfile Group

As an IT System Engineer, do you want to do more than just keep systems running?
Are you looking for a role where you have real ownership, help shape structure, security and standards, and make a visible impact in an international context?

Then this position in an industrial environment with strong Belgian roots might be your next step.

About the organization

  • You will join an international industrial organization, firmly rooted in Belgium and operating across several European locations. Active in infrastructure and industrial activities, the company is known for its no‑nonsense culture, strong technical expertise and long-term vision.
  • The current IT environment is stable, but clearly in a transition phase:
from a local and pragmatic setup towards increased structure, standardization and enterprise IT governance, with greater focus on security and compliance at European level.
  • This creates an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys bringing structure, progress and sustainability.

Your responsibilities

As an IT System Engineer, you are responsible for the reliability, security and continuous evolution of the IT infrastructure.
You work proactively and structurally, focusing on improvement and prevention rather than firefighting.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and optimizing the Windows Server environment
  • Patch management and vulnerability management (e.g. Tanium, Qualys)
  • Active involvement in IT security and compliance
  • 2nd and 3rd line support for end users
  • Incident analysis through root cause analysis and implementation of structural solutions
  • Participation in IT projects (infrastructure, security, international roll-outs)

This role is not about “putting out fires”, but about building, standardizing and professionalizing the IT landscape.

Team & collaboration

You will be part of a small IT team (±3 people), which means:

  • short communication lines,
  • direct visibility of your impact,
  • a high level of autonomy and trust.

You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and international colleagues across Europe.

  • 4–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or system engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server
  • Experience with patching and vulnerability management

  • Hands-on mindset combining support and infrastructure

Languages

  • Experience with Intune or CRM environments
  • Background in an industrial or production environment
  • Experience in international projects

We offer

  • Company car with fuel or charging card
  • Meal vouchers and eco vouchers
  • Hospitalization and group insurance
  • 32 days of leave
  • Laptop and smartphone
  • Net expense allowance
  • Work environment & flexibility

    • Main location: Huizingen
    • 1 day per week in Perwez
    • Hybrid working: 1 day from home, evolving towards 2 days
    • Occasional international collaboration or travel within Europe
