About us
The British School of Brussels (BSB) is a thriving international learning community for children from the ages of 1-18 years. While 30% of our students originally come from the UK, we are a truly international school as our student body constitutes over 70 different nationalities from all over the world. Based in the eastern suburbs of Brussels on a state-of-the-art campus, we offer a high quality, holistic education to students of all abilities and linguistic backgrounds.
Academic progress and success is a key priority for the school, but we also maintain a very strong pastoral focus and students are encouraged to develop wider skills beyond academic study, to take part in service learning opportunities and to see themselves as global citizens of the future, able and willing to make a difference in the world. The foundation of our Learning Community is set out in our Guiding Statements where we aim to be an Educational Force for Good by developing Confident, Caring and Courageous people, fostering Curious and Resilient learners and encouraging Respect for self, others and the wider world.
Company sustainability
An awareness and interest in environmental issues begins at an early age here at BSB. Our primary school is deeply committed to fostering a culture of sustainability, incorporating a wide range of activities and initiatives that empower our students to become environmentally conscious global citizens. From recycling and waste reduction programs to eco-friendly gardening and composting, we actively engage our young learners in hands-on experiences that emphasise the importance of conserving our natural resources and reducing our carbon footprint. One of our key programs is “Learning without Walls,” where every primary student has the opportunity to participate in two outdoor lessons per term. These experiences serve as the foundation for their connection with the natural world, fostering a deeper appreciation for our environment. Our thriving BSBees eco-club, boasting 75 dedicated student members, encourages student agency in sustainability.
